We have entered the Quiet Zone...

In other words, it’s fasting week in the Jewish Community and that means no more dance parties or jamming to music for the next three weeks. #dailyblues. There’s just white noise from the Aircon and nothing else to keep us sane.

Our Director (Baruch) however still manages to keep us on our toes daily and we have come to expect the unexpected with this A.D.D blessed individual. We can’t help but smile when he walks into the office, closer to mid-morning, still cheerful as ever and we can’t help but hold our breath as we await his erratic and sporadic directions.

It may sound dysfunctional (sometimes it certainly feels that way) – but to be honest, without Baruch’s drive and passion to make Start My Car a success – we probably would have made a dash for the door a lot earlier. But hey! We are still here!

We won’t mention the teeny tiny bit of excitement (more like relief), Stella and I get when he does leave the office to attend to either some meeting, or issue, or to get his ‘lunch’ (can one survive on chocolates and sweets??). It’s almost as we can breathe for that split second just to organise our brains with what he wants us to do. In his defence, it is pure endless excitement being here.
Well not always..

There are some challenging days – who here likes Couriers? Raise of hands?
Okay, okay, I know they aren’t ALL bad, but we just seem to catch the difficult bunch. We argue daily with these guys – where are our parcels? We don’t know? When are you coming? We don’t know?
Are you going to pick that up? We don’t know.                                                Hmm… here’s a thing guys – what DO you know?

But fear not dear customers – Start My Car superheroes are here to save the day, and we do… try..

Oh! Interesting fact of the week – wait for it… cars have gutters. Don’t go and check your car now (unless it’s an older model or has a canopy). Stella discovered this for us when she was dealing with a customer who needed roof racks for his car. We now know that our roof racks have a 75kg loading capacity and oh, those car gutters? Yeah, they do exactly what they sound like they do – allow the water to run off your vehicle in the rain. #insertfacepalmemoji

We make it through with good laughs and good company – oh and of course Rodney’s inappropriate jokes.

But man, when that clock strikes 14:00 on Friday – an inaudible sigh goes out – and we know, we survived another jam packed week…
