October is all but gone and the season is upon us.

The sad reality is we are missing a bit of Boney M Christmas tunes already playing in stores as the upbeat of festive shopping has been overshadowed by a pandemic that shook the world and kept a nation of outdoor-loving South Africans safely locked behind doors.

But, it’s not all doom and gloom as I pointed out last week. Ecommerce has shone down a light of convenient and safe shopping, in what should be an avoidance of large numbers of consumers lined up in malls.

Many South Africans and in fact, many people around the world have gone from BRICKS to CLICKS and are readily waiting with bated breath for what is to be the ecommerce deal showdown.

This past week in automotive ecommerce has been an interesting one.

While many South Africans may still be holding out for specific deals on products they have been adding to their Wishlist all year, one thing is very clear, NOT shopping for spare parts online is a thing of the past. Online Spare part sales are up at least 70% on Last year and continue to grow as reliable businesses like ourselves start to service the market with quality, well-priced products and a wealth of selection.

The fact that so many cars are back on the roads and that after so many months behind our walls, we have started to venture out on long road trips, weekend getaways or started working from a ‘new’ remote location around the country - the need for well maintained and upkeep of our vehicles has shifted top of mind.

It is also very apparent that a lot of South Africans will be looking at the local tourist market for a well-deserved end of year holiday as many international borders remained closed, which means plenty of vehicles on our highways.

So whether you are shopping for products you can DIY yourself or you have a reliable mechanic looking after your pride and joy , let Start My Car help you get your Vehicle roadworthy and ready to blast your favorite road trip tunes as you embark on your next adventure.

So, ‘SPARE’ a few moments to browse this week’s top selling brands.
