It is almost that time of the year where many South Africans can enjoy a fair share of public holidays and in turn some much-needed time away with family and friends.

Last year was spent deeply in level 5 lockdown, so you can be certain almost everyone of us will be attempted to enjoy a bit more ‘freedom’ in 2021. (just do not forget to mask-up)

So how has this affected ecommerce over the last week?

E-comm sales have shown a steady increase this week focused for most parts in a few key departments that are relevant to the current state of life.

Some of these departments included but are not limited to, homeware and patio products in preparation for some holiday visitors and a good old Saffa Braai or ten.

Liquor saw a steady spike, for obvious reasons.

And lastly and very importantly automotive, diy and parts saw a 45% increase this past week with many avid shoppers getting their vehicles in pristine, roadworthy condition for the upcoming trips that lie ahead.

Sales varied from new shocks and filter kits, lighting and 4x4 products with a significant boost in cleaning brands and emergency breakdown must haves.

So, as we approach a much-needed time of rest and reflection with our families and friends, we can expect our road to be significantly fuller.

We urge you to enjoy our beautiful country, but make sure to do it safely and slowly.

And because ecommerce never sleeps, allowing you to shop anywhere, anytime, let us at Start My Car help you along that journey , with some of this weeks top sellers.
